ESD Simulator

ESD Simulators, also known as ESD Guns are used to test the immunity of a device to electrostatic discharge. These devices are used in special electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) laboratories.[1][2] These ESD pulses are special high voltage, high frequency pulses that help verify that the device under test is immune to static electricity discharges. ESD simulators are necessary to receive a CE mark, and by most suppliers of components for motor vehicles as part of required electromagnetic compatibility testing.[3] It is often useful to automate these tests to eliminate the human factor.[4]
